Adobe Illustrator
We will be using Adobe Illustrator CS5 which is the newest version for the program. Illustrator is a VECTOR based program which uses lines and shapes to create the form. In using this application we will be covering basic tool usage and various techniques on how to create logos, shirts, and self portraits.
Adobe Photoshop
We will be using Adobe Photoshop CS5, the newest version for the program. Photoshop is a PIXEL based program that uses tiny dots of color to create an image. In using this application we will be covering basic tool usage and various techniques on how to create movie posters, book covers and magazine ads.
Certificate of Completion
The ROP/CTE program offers students the opportunity to get job training in certain sectors. At the completion of the course, they will receive a Certificate of Completion that lists all the skills they have acquired in the course. This is a great resource to show future employers. In order to receive a Certificate of Completion, the student must have both semesters of Digital Imaging (Illustrator and Photoshop) and receive a grade of ‘B’ or better for the combined courses.
Hands-On!
This class is all hands-on training. We will work everyday on the computers using the various applications, so your attendance and participation is needed. Even if you’ve used Photoshop or the other programs before, pay attention, you might just learn something new!
